Just four months ago, Roseline was too sick to go to school.

Today, she’s a bright-eyed, healthy six-year-old.

Roseline lives with her father and four siblings in Crochu, a mountain village north of Port-au-Prince. Her father spends long days making charcoal just to put food on the table. Some days, there simply isn’t enough.

When one of our community health workers first met Roseline, she had been sick for a long time–so sick she couldn’t go to school. He brought her to the Lespwa Timoun Clinic, where she began receiving the care and nutrition she desperately needed.

When she first arrived, she had many common symptoms of malnutrition: significant weight loss, brittle hair, dry and wrinkled skin, visible ribs, and very thin limbs.

Just two months after beginning treatment at Lespwa Timoun Clinic, Roseline wanted to help with meal prep before lunch and started peeling beans in the kitchen.

It’s a simple moment.

But to everyone who had watched her fight to regain her strength, it was so much more.

It was a little girl feeling well enough to help…

…to smile…

…and to simply be a child again.

This is Roseline three months later…

This is Roseline four months
later…

Today, the clinic isn’t just a place where Roseline receives care–it’s a place where she feels safe, welcomed, and loved.

This is what healing looks like.

Not a number.

Not a statistic.

A child regaining strength. A family finding hope. A future beginning to look different.

Beans, braids, and beads…

Roseline is one of nearly 1,300 neighbors treated by the Lespwa Timoun Clinic each month. Every child, every mother, and every family who walks through our doors has a story–and because of your generosity, those stories are being rewritten every day.

Thank you for being part of Roseline’s story.

Next month, we’ll share another chapter of her journey. We hope you’ll join us again to see how she’s doing–and to witness the lasting difference your compassion is making, one child and one family at a time.
