The 6th Annual Hope for Haiti 5K will be held on July 17th, 2021!
Last year, we had 265 runners from 19 states, Puerto Rico, and Haiti!
We look forward to large group gatherings again one day soon, but for 2021,
WE’RE RUNNING VIRTUALLY AGAIN!
Regardless of geography,
Run together. Run with purpose.
How does a virtual run work? After registration, participants receive a race shirt and all pertinent information about the virtual event. During the designated days, participants may run or walk a 5K on their own, with family, or roommates (including those who are four-legged). Participants will enter their times and photos into a race results website. Prizes will be mailed to winners within various race categories.
Is July 17th the only time that participants will be walking or running? In short, no! We will ask participants to consider joining the Light from Light community in a 5K on the morning of July 17th in an act of solidarity (Clinic Staff will be running on the same day); however, we will accept “official” times that are submitted anytime between July 11-18th.
Why a virtual 5K? All proceeds from this 5K will benefit Light from Light, a nonprofit organization that strengthens the foundations of progress in Haitian communities living with extraordinary poverty and chaos. We walk and work alongside proven leaders at our sister organization, Lespwa Timoun “Hope for Children” Clinic, empowering them to build and sustain long-lasting change.
